||
Sussex PoliceGood Morning Resident, We are joining the national gun amnesty running from 2 to 27 February for owners of five Italian manufactured Bruni top/side venting blank firers (TVBFs). The five models are: - 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model 92 blank firing self-loading pistol - 8mm PAK Bruni BBM New Police blank firing self-loading pistol - 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model 96 blank firing self-loading pistol - 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model ‘GAP’ blank firing self-loading pistol - .380R (9mmK) PAK Bruni BBM ME Ranger single-action blank firing revolver These TVBFs are to be surrendered following tests by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and policing that showed they are readily convertible into viable firearms and therefore illegal. From March 2026, it will be illegal for anyone to have one of these blank firing guns and anyone found with one in their possession may face the possibility of up to ten years in prison. However, during the amnesty people can hand in at designated police stations, without worrying about getting into any trouble. Sussex residents will be able to pass these firearms over to police at police station front offices. To find out more details of where to hand in the TVBFs and for more information, please read our press release
